Contact the Editorial Desk

There is one editorial mailbox, [email protected], and it is the only address this desk uses.

The one address we use

The editorial mailbox is [email protected]. Write to it for anything about the content of these pages: a figure that looks wrong, a broker condition that has changed, a sentence that is unclear, or a question about how a page was put together.

We do not publish a phone number or a postal address, and we do not run a live chat. Email is the channel, and it keeps a written record of what was asked and what was answered, which is useful when a correction follows.

Questions the desk answers and questions it must hand back

The desk answers questions about what this site publishes: how a calculation was performed, what a term means, where a stated fact came from, and whether a page is current. It can explain how a pip of 0.01 on a 100 oz lot translates into a shilling amount at a given price, and it can point you to the relevant section of a page. Those are editorial questions about our own material, and they are answered directly.

The desk cannot answer whether you should buy or sell gold, how much of your funds to commit, or what price XAU/USD will trade at. That is personal trading advice, and giving it would require knowing your full financial position, which we do not collect and will not ask for. A question phrased as what would you do is still a request for advice; the desk will explain the mechanics behind the decision instead, and leave the decision with you.

The desk cannot confirm anything about a live FxPro account, including balances, open positions, withdrawal status or verification progress. It also cannot interpret the CMA's rules for your individual situation, because FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA, not by the CMA of Kenya, and the applicable entity terms govern your account. Those questions belong with the broker's own support channels, which can see your account record and are accountable for the answer.

How long a reply takes and what changes it

Expect a reply within a few working days for a question about published content, counted from the next working day in Kenya. The desk is small and reads messages in the order they arrive, so a Friday evening message is effectively a Monday message. Nothing about the site is a live service, so there is no reason to expect an answer within the hour, and no message is answered faster because it is marked urgent.

A correction request quoting a specific sentence with its page address is usually handled first, because verifying it is a bounded task. A general question that requires the desk to search several pages, or that asks for an explanation of a topic the site has not covered, takes longer. Messages sent more than once about the same point do not move up the queue and can slow the reply, since duplicates have to be reconciled before answering.

A message that arrives without the page address, the platform name, or the lot size cannot be answered until you supply it, and that exchange is what stretches the timeline. If you send a follow-up with the missing detail as a new message rather than a reply in the same thread, the earlier context is lost and the clock effectively restarts. Keep one thread per question and add detail inside it.

No guest posts, no sponsored reviews, no paid placement

We do not accept guest posts, we do not publish sponsored reviews, and we do not sell placement at any price. A broker cannot pay to appear on a page, to be described in a particular way, or to have a drawback removed.

If you write to offer any of those things, the answer is no, and it will stay no. The only commercial relationship this desk has is affiliate links, and those are disclosed on the pages where they appear.

How a correction request is checked and resolved

A correction request is checked against the source facts behind the page before anything is changed, not against the wording that reads better. The desk re-reads the passage, compares it with the figures and definitions the page was built from, and decides whether the page is wrong, imprecise, or correct as written. If the page is right and the reading was ambiguous, the fix is usually clearer phrasing rather than a different number.

If the page is wrong, it is corrected at the source and the change is made to every page that repeats the same figure, so a corrected number does not survive elsewhere. Gold figures are the usual case: a lot size, a pip value of 0.01, or a margin example such as the roughly $85.50 needed for a 0.10-lot position at the applicable cap. Those appear in more than one place, and a fix that stops at one page creates a contradiction.

You get a reply either way, stating what was found and what was changed, or why the original wording stands. Corrections are not attributed to the person who raised them and no names are published, in line with how the site handles authorship. If your request concerns a page that has since been rewritten, the desk tells you what the current version says rather than reconstructing the old one.

What happens when the desk cannot answer your message

A message the desk cannot answer gets a reply saying so, with the reason and, where one exists, the place the question should go instead. That is a deliberate choice over silence: a redirect to the broker's support or to the regulator that licenses your entity is more useful than an unanswered email. Expect the reason to be specific, such as that the question asks for personal advice or concerns an account the desk cannot see.

Messages that ask for personal trading advice are closed with an explanation of the boundary rather than a partial answer, because a hedged opinion on whether to hold a leveraged gold position is still advice. Messages about account access, withdrawals or fund recovery are redirected to the broker, and messages about a complaint are pointed to the broker's complaints process and then to the relevant regulator, since FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA, not by the CMA of Kenya.

Messages that contain credentials, M-Pesa codes or identity documents are deleted without being answered, and the sender is told to change anything exposed. Messages that are abusive, or that are attempting to sell a service or place content, are not answered at all. Nothing sent to the desk is published, quoted or passed to a third party, and no message creates any ongoing obligation on either side.

What the desk will and will not help with

The desk will help with editorial questions: how a check was done, where a number came from, and why a broker is or is not on a page. We will also take a report of an error and follow it up against the source document.

The desk will not help with account problems, will not attempt fund recovery, and will not give personal trading advice. If your account is frozen, a withdrawal is stuck or you believe you have been treated unfairly, that is a matter between you and the broker, and in Kenya the CMA is the local authority to raise a regulatory question with.

The details that make a message answerable at all

A useful message states one question, the page it concerns, and the specific number or sentence at issue. That combination is enough for the desk to act without a round of clarification. Messages that describe a feeling about a page, or that ask whether something is legit, cannot be answered because there is nothing concrete to check; the reply can only ask what exactly you want verified, which costs both sides a turn.

Include the platform and lot size whenever the question involves a calculation, because the answer depends on them. A 0.10-lot XAU/USD position and a 1.00-lot position differ by a factor of ten in both pip value and margin, and the leverage cap that applies to the entity serving Kenya is a ceiling rather than a setting. Without those inputs the desk can only explain the formula, not apply it to your case.

Write in plain text and avoid attachments unless a screenshot is genuinely needed, since links and files from unknown senders are treated with caution. State your country only if it changes the answer, which for this site means Kenya and the local funding route through M-Pesa. Do not include account credentials, M-Pesa codes, or identity documents; the desk has no use for them and their presence in an inbox is a risk to you.

What to put in the message for each type of question

Send the page address and the exact sentence you are questioning when your message is about something published on this site, and quote the line rather than paraphrasing it. A URL plus a quoted sentence lets the desk find the passage without guessing which of several similar paragraphs you mean, and it is the single fastest way to get a substantive reply. If the page has changed since you read it, say roughly when you saw the original wording.

Send your platform name, the instrument code XAU/USD, and the lot size when your question is about how a figure was calculated. For a margin question, state the lot size and the leverage cap you were told applies to the entity serving Kenya, so the desk can check the arithmetic against the worked example rather than re-derive your inputs. Naming MT4, MT5, cTrader or the FxPro app matters because order tickets and contract specifications are displayed differently on each.

Send the full error text, the platform, and the step you were on when your message is about a technical or access problem. Screenshots help only if they show the whole window, including any reference number, because a cropped image of an error box usually omits the identifier the platform's own support team would need. Do not send your password, your M-Pesa confirmation codes, or any full account number in the body of an email.

Which correction requests move to the front

A correction that affects a number a reader might act on is prioritised over one that concerns wording, style or a broken link. Wrong lot size, wrong pip value, wrong margin example, or a misstated regulatory position on FxPro and the CMA all fall into the first group, because a reader could rely on them. A request to rephrase a sentence that is already accurate waits behind those, and may be declined.

A request that quotes the exact sentence and page address is prioritised over one that describes a problem in general terms, since it can be verified immediately. So is a request that identifies a contradiction between two pages on this site, because that is a defect the desk can confirm without outside input. Requests that arrive without a page address are held until the address is supplied, which in practice puts them behind everything already actionable.

Priority is about order, not about outcome: a high-priority correction is still checked against the source facts before anything changes, and a confidently worded request does not override the figures. Volume does not raise priority either, so a point raised by many readers is handled once rather than faster. The desk does not publish a queue position or a promise date for an individual correction.

Account problems and money problems go to the broker, not here

This site cannot open, close, verify, fund or recover an FxPro account, and it cannot see any account record. Anything involving a login, a withdrawal, a deposit sent through M-Pesa, a margin call, a stop-out, or a disputed fill has to go to the broker's own support, because only that team can access the account and only that team is accountable for the outcome. A message here about a stuck withdrawal can only be redirected.

Fund recovery in particular is not something an editorial desk can assist with, and any message promising to recover money for a fee should be treated as a fraud attempt. The legitimate route is the broker's formal complaints process and, if that fails, the dispute mechanism of the regulator that licenses the entity holding your account. FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA, not by the CMA of Kenya, so the CMA is not the body that handles a complaint about your account.

Personal trading advice is also outside what this site does, including questions about position sizing relative to your savings, whether to hold a losing XAU/USD position, or how to structure a portfolio. The desk can explain what a term means and how a figure was calculated, and it will decline the rest rather than dress an opinion up as guidance. Trading gold on leverage carries a real risk of losing more than you intend to commit.

FAQ

Common questions

How do I reach the Elgon Trial desk?

Use the contact form on this page with a clear subject line, and include the page address and the exact sentence you are asking about. Messages about a specific figure are easier to answer than general questions. We read everything, but a small desk cannot promise an individual reply to every message.

Will the desk tell me whether to buy or sell gold?

No. We do not give trade recommendations, entry levels, targets or stop placements, and we are not licensed to give personal advice. What we can do is explain how a position is sized, how a pip is valued and how margin is calculated, so that you make the decision yourself with the numbers in front of you.

Can I send money by M-Pesa to the desk for a subscription?

No. The desk does not accept payments of any kind, including M-Pesa, and it will never ask you for a deposit, a top-up or account credentials. If anyone contacts you claiming to represent Elgon Trial and asks for money or your broker login, treat it as fraud and stop the conversation immediately.

Can you help me recover funds or resolve a dispute with a broker?

No. We are not a regulator, an ombudsman or a lawyer, and we cannot intervene in an account. A dispute about deposits, withdrawals or order execution belongs with the broker's own complaints process and then with the authority that licenses that entity. We can only point you to the correct channel, not act on your behalf.

How long should I expect to wait for an answer?

There is no fixed response time. Messages that identify a specific error, a broken link or an unclear worked example are prioritised, because those affect other readers too. General questions about strategy or market direction are not answered, since doing so would cross into advice the desk is not licensed to give.
